Kerry Washington To Play Anita Hill In New HBO Film

The Hollywood Reporter just confirmed that we’ll be seeing Ms. Washington take off the white hat for her new role in an HBO film about Anita Hill. Kerry will star as Anita Hill and executive produce the TV movie. The film, called Confirmation, is being promoted as a tele pic that will detail the salacious 1991 Supreme Court nomination hearing of Clarence Thomas. You may remember Hill famously testified during those hearings.

Alfreda Stukes, newcomer to radio and the Women’s Radio Network, says her goal on air is to celebrate, educate, and empower the minds of women around the globe. Her show, “Coming Direct with Freda,” is a result of her five-year contract with Beasley Broadcasting, which will feature the Southern native on 1100 AM WRNW1 weekdays from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m.


Russell Simmons Developing TV Shows With WorldStar

Russell Simmons is an icon in Hip-Hop circles, but this will certainly elicit side-eyes. Reports the Hollywood Reporter: Russell Simmons‘ All Def Digital has formed an exclusive partnership with online video site World Star Hip Hop to develop projects for television. Under the new partnership, the two companies will provide resources toward the development of new television programming for cable and subscription services and music programming for cable and broadcast.
