Toddler Who Shot Herself Expected To Survive
Authorities in NW Georgia say a 2-year-old girl who shot herself just below the navel is expected to survive.
Murray County Sheriff’s Detective Brett Morrison tells the Dalton Daily Citizen that no major organs were damaged when the girl shot herself Thursday morning. Morrison says the girl is in the intensive care unit at Children’s Hospital at Erlanger in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
Sheriff Gary Langford says the gun the girl shot herself with belonged to her father. Deputy Chief Brian Ingle says charges aren’t expected to be filed but the Department of Family and Children Services is investigating the shooting.
The girl’s name hasn’t been released.
How did the parents manage to let her get her hands on a gun in the first place? SMH.
