Darren Sharper To Serve Prison Time After Pleading Guilty To Sexual Assault

Darren Sharper’s legal woes appear to be closer to a resolution after his lead attorney announced in Los Angeles Superior Court Friday that the former NFL Pro-Bowl safety had reached a plea agreement that addresses all charges against him in four states.

Blair Berk, Sharper’s attorney, called the arrangement a “global resolution,” according to the Los Angeles Times, although terms of the plea deal were not available. Sharper, 39, has been charged with drugging women and sexually assaulting them in four different states: California, Arizona, Louisiana and Nevada.

Sharper has been jailed in L.A. ever since he was charged by the Los Angeles County district attorney with seven felony counts on Valentine’s Day, 2014. Grand juries in Tempe, Ariz. and New Orleans returned indictments charging Sharper with sexual assault and administering dangerous drugs (in the Arizona case) and aggravated rape and simple rape (in the Louisiana case). On Wednesday, Sharper was charged with two felony counts of sexual assault in Las Vegas, according to a criminal complaint.

The L.A. Times reported that Sharper is scheduled to enter a plea in Los Angeles court Monday.

Clark County (Nev.) District Attorney Steve Wolfson told the Associated Press that Sharper will still serve “significant time” behind bars.

“We are pleased that Mr. Sharper is accepting responsibility for the crimes he committed in Nevada,” Wolfson said. “I’m not sure where he’s going to serve his time, but he’s going to serve significant time.”

It was obvious from the jump that this d-bag was as guilty as the day is long.

According to the AP, Sharper will plead guilty to one felony charge of attempted sexual assault on Tuesday in Las Vegas, and Wolfson said Sharper will face between 38 months and eight years in prison. Wolfson told the AP that Sharper’s Nevada prison term would run concurrent with other sentences.

In Louisiana, if Sharper was convicted of the aggravated rape charge, he would face life in prison without the possibility of parole, according to Louisiana state law. Sharper and an associate were also charged in a federal case in Louisiana. The U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Louisiana charged Sharper and the associate with conspiracy to distribute the Schedule IV controlled substances — Alprazolam, Diazepam and Zolpidem, drugs the men are alleged to have used on women — “with intent to commit rape and two counts of distributing these substances with intent to commit rape.”

Darren shouldn’t worry about dropping the soap, the boys in the bing would get in his azz if he had a bar of Irish Spring surgically attached to his hand.
