The duo Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele have been signed to do the movie version of their popular Comedy Central sketch Substitute Teacher through Paramount Studios. Key will be cast as Mr. Garvey who is a substitute teacher from the inner city who pronounces the names of his students hilariously wrong and Peele is his arch-nemesis, a fellow teacher at the school.
Codeblack Films, USC Launch Scholarship Program For Diverse Students
Codeblack Films, a division of Lionsgate, and the University of Southern California’s School of Cinematic Arts have partnered for the Lionsgate/Codeblack Films Fund for Student Support, which will provide scholarship funding to students enrolled in the program. Priority will be given to African-American students who have a need determined by the school’s financial aid office. The first $50,000 will be awarded next month.
T-Pain Unveils The Iron Way Tracklist
March 27, T-Pain will cash in on all of the attention surrounding his new music by debuting his mixtape, The Iron Way. After smashing the The FADER Fort at SXSW last week, the Florida singer-songwriter will give fans 21 new cuts, many of which he’s already leaked to much fanfare. That included The-Dream and Vantrease-assisted “Let Your Hair Down,” a collab with Lil Wayne called “Let Me Thru,” and “Wait A Minute,” featuring Atlanta newcomer OG Maco.
