Florida Man Keeps Alligator In 3-Year-Old Son’s Room
A Naples man is accused of felony charges after deputies reportedly found an alligator in his son’s bedroom.
Via NBC reports:
“I didn’t think it was a big deal because there’s millions of them and they said they took them off the endangered species list,” Kevin Gill, the man arrested for keeping the alligator, said.
Collier County deputies were serving a search warrant when they found the eight-inch baby gator.
The family lives in a home on Holiday Lane in Naples. According to the family, Gill found a bird attacking the baby gator. He wanted to save it, nurse it back to health and bring it to the conservancy.
But deputies found it and Gill was brought to jail. Gill said he didn’t know it was illegal.
“I had no clue. It wasn’t like I was out collecting alligators. I was trying to save an alligator and nurse it back to health and we were going to take it over to the conservancy,” Gill said.
Experts tell NBC2, anyone who wants to own an alligator has to go through at least 1,000 hours of training first, and then apply for a license. Also, breeding is just around the corner. They warn not to touch the alligators, big or small.
You can’t be serious!!!!
