Lane Bryant Embraces Women With Curves With New Cacique #ImNoAngel Campaign

You know we’re all for curves over here! Plus size retailer Lane Bryant is leading the charge against the Victoria’s Secret perfect body standard of beauty with their new #ImNoAngel campaign for their line of Cacique lingerie.


The campaign features sexy size 14-28 undergarments, modeled by beauties including Candice Huffine, Marquita Pring and Ashley Graham, who made a big splash with her Swimsuits For All ad in this year’s Sport’s Illustrated Swimsuit edition.

You may notice there is no mention of the term “plus-size” in this ad. But considering that “Victoria’s Secret Angels” are famous the world over, it’s pretty obvious the campaign is taking VS’ standard of beauty head on. You’ll notice the ladies are even posed similarly to Victoria’s Secret’s Perfect Body campaign — the same campaign that triggered a Change.org petition for “irresponsible marketing.”

“We’re not throwing shade, but we’re definitely throwing curves,” Lane Bryant President and CEO Linda Heasley tells the Daily News. “It’s about great fashion so we lead with that, not size,” says Heasley.
