Stacey Dash Talks Gender Equality With Meredith Vieira
While sitting down with Meredith Vieira, Stacey Dash tried to defend her stance that women don’t need to get paid as much as men for doing the same work — instead they should just work harder and be better at whatever they do.
“I feel like it’s an excuse. It’s the same with race. It’s an excuse. Stop making excuses. If there are opportunities, seize them. And be prepared for them. And be the best, if that’s what it takes. If you have to be extraordinary, be extraordinary.”
So basically Stacey says continue to live by the old adage “be twice as good to get half as much,” and smile about it. Stacey doesn’t seem to realize (and very likely doesn’t even care) that Black women such as herself get paid even less than that 78 cents to the dollar that a man in the same position takes home. But we digress.
Meredith tried her best to get her together on the issue, but it looked like it was falling on deaf ears. What do you think?
