According to RT, the U.S. is the absolute worst place to be a mother in the developed world. State of the World’s Mothers 2015, a comprehensive report published by Save the Children, rated the United States dead last in maternal health among developed countries, 33rd place overall. America dropped two spots from last year’s 31st ranking. Women in the U.S. also face a 1 in 1,800 risk of pregnancy-related death. This is the worst performance of any developed country in the world.
Daddy’s Home! More Fathers Are Willing To Sacrifice Career For Family
Now dads are opting to reel in their career ambitions for the sake of spending more time with their families. The result is a “daddy track” that is changing drastically fatherhood in the U.S. According to a survey of 9,699 workers across eight countries conducted by Harris Interactive and consulting firm EY, American working fathers were more apt than women to make career sacrifices for a better work-life balance. Of the respondents, about 1,200 respondents were from the U.S.
Bill Clinton Blames Own Policies For Prison Overpopulation
Former president Bill Clinton has been lauded by the Democratic establishment for bringing the party to prominence in the 1990s. However, Clinton admitted that one of his own policies has been responsible for mass incarceration and overcrowding prisons. In 1994, Clinton signed the Violent Crime Control and Law Enforcement Act into law which included a federal “three strikes” provision which gave stiff prison sentences for third-time offenders. Clinton took the bold step in admitting the law’s failure and how prisons are far too crowded today as a result.
