New York City investigators have begun to examine how Whole Food Supermarkets prices its food and concluded that eight out of the nine supermarket chain’s stores in the city have overcharged their customers over the past five years. The recent investigation occurs only a year after Whole Foods paid an $800,000 settlement in California, where inspectors learned food that was priced by weight was sold at higher prices. Consumer protection agents found several violations at Whole Foods such as inaccurate weight labels on pre-packaged food and tax being added to non-taxable items.
Half Of Americans Say They’d Dump Their Partner For Secret Financial Debt
One-in-five Americans are keeping a financial debt hush-hush from their partners — and if they’re caught, they may wind up battling this debt alone. According to a new poll, a whopping 50 percent of Americans would kick their partner out the door if a secret debt was revealed, NBC News reports. The report, conducted by insurance site Haven Life, found that among those who would not forgive their partners for financial secrets, a staggering 70 percent would throw in the towel if the debt was $5,000 or more — that’s lower than the average credit card debt of $7,307.
Pharrell To Release “Freedom” Exclusively On Apple Music
Pharrell Williams has teamed with Apple Music, and that’s where his new song, “Freedom,” will be released exclusively on June 30. That’s the same day Apple’s official foray into the music streaming game will premiere. Pharrell announce the song’s release date via Twitter along with a 15 second teaser of the song. Apple Music will include Beats 1, a live streaming, worldwide radio station curated by Zane Lowe, Hot 97’s Ebro Darden , and Julie Adenuga, in Los Angeles, New York and London, respectively.
