Florida really does have crazies…
Doctor Arrested For Taking Pictures Up Women’s Skirts
A pervy doctor who was previously accused of hiring a hit man to kill an associate (what?!), was recently arrested after cops say he was busted taking up skirt photos at Publix.
A Lake County doctor told officers he had a compulsion to take videos up unsuspecting women’s skirts after being caught in the act at a Publix, Groveland police said.
Dr. Akram Ismail — previously accused of hiring a hit man to kill a business partner — was shopping Thursday at the Publix off State Road 50 when several customers spotted him open the camera app on his phone, bend down and move the camera under a woman’s skirt.
A customer reported the acts to a store manager, who called police. The manager told police he saw Ismail place the phone under the victim, and she didn’t even know it happened.
“He holds his phone in his hand, and he’s got like things on top of it, and then he acts like he’s going to pick something up…,” the manager told police on a 911 call. “Then he bent down and did it and walked away.”
Police told Ismail they were looking over surveillance footage from inside the store and asked whether they could look through his phone. Officers said Ismail agreed to allow them look through his phone and even entered the phone’s pass code for them.
Police said they saw several videos that appeared to show Ismail placing his phone under the skirts of women.
“At this time, he [Ismail] interrupted me and voluntarily stated that he had a problem…,” an arrest affidavit said. “He [Ismail] stated to me that he had a compulsive disorder that caused him to take under skirt videos of unsuspected females. He also stated to me that he had an appointment scheduled with a specialist.”
Ismail posted $5,000 bond and was released from the Lake County Jail.
Police said that because officers saw numerous videos on his phone, they think there could be multiple victims across the region.
The arrest comes six years after Ismail was arrested after authorities accused him of hiring a hit man to kill, maim or sexually embarrass a professional rival. He avoided jail after being found guilty of a lesser charge that required community service and probation.
