Juxtaposed next to kids in uniforms were memes by the travel elite who wanted every parent to know: “While you look over your child’s homework, I’ll be horseback riding in the Andes,”… Now, I love to travel and think it’s vital to one’s growth as a person. However, I can’t stand shaming another person’s life choices to make you feel better about your own. I get it, people like to make women feel some type of way for choosing not to have kids and these memes are like a middle finger to societal norms. But sometimes this behavior is also a cry for attention, possibly due to the deep-rooted desire for the thing these travelers seem to be rallying against: having families of their own. Sure, you can plan a trip with friends, but there is a different level of intimacy traveling with a significant other (and the family you’ve both created)…

Bionka Of New Docu-Series “Transcendent” Describes Her Transition And Language Around Trans Bodies

This Fall, Fuse TV will premiere a docu-series titled Transcendent which will follow the achievements and hardships of transgender cabaret entertainers who work at the illustrious Asia SF, in San Francisco. To gain insight on what viewers can expect from the show, we recently spoke to Bionka, one of the cabaret performers, about her evolving journey as a woman and her career in social work and live entertainment… “I think it is important for viewers to walk away from the show knowing transgender people are normal human beings. Our audience will automatically see the difference between our lives versus how it’s portrayed on scripted television or Caitlyn Jenner’s reality show, especially since she comes from money. Also, since most of the cast members are older, viewers will see how they navigate adulthood after their transition periods…”

Ice Cube To Play Scrooge In Christmas Carol Remake, ‘Humbug’

This year, Ice Cube has secured his past with the box office blockbuster Straight Outta Compton and his future with the sequel to the comedy Ride Along, so it’s only right he ensure the present day is nice and tight. Deadline has learned that Cube is right back with his Ride Along director, Tim Story for Humbug, a remake of the all-time classic, A Christmas Carol as the lead character, Ebenezer Scrooge. Universal Pictures will distribute the film, which was written by brothers Todd R. Jones and Earl Richey Jones, who previously penned Johnson Family Vacation and Rio together. Ice Cube will also produce the movie alongside Jeff Kwatinetz through his Cube Vision studio. Humbug will likely hit theaters during the holiday season of 2017.
