NFL Denies Deangelo Williams Request To Honor Deceased Mother With Pink Accessories

After the scandal-ridden year that the NFL has had, one would think that a lil’ goodwill could be extended on behalf of a noble cause that affects millions of women who are the mothers, aunts, sisters, cousins and friends of their players.

Pittsburgh Steelers baller Deangelo Williams lost his mother to breast cancer back in May. While the NFL does support breast cancer awareness every October with pink uniform accessories, Deangelo asked the front office if he could extent the policy past October in honor of his mother.

Deangelo was denied that request because the NFL is devout to following the rules and adhering to the stringent policies that have been set forth…except when it comes to domestic violence, then they can make up rules as they go, but we digress.

ESPN‘s Lisa Salters spoke to Williams about his reaction to the decision:

“The same way it made you feel after you heard it — like, man,” he said. “He told me no. I’m assuming they are telling everybody else no as well. … It wasn’t about selling it. You know and I know and everybody else knows before I made the phone call.”

Williams said he is purchasing 53 mammograms tests — in honor of his mother’s age when she died — for a hospital in Charlotte, North Carolina, where he played nine NFL seasons for the Carolina Panthers, and in Pittsburgh.

Williams told Salters: “It’s not just about October for me; it’s not just a month, it’s a lifestyle. It’s about getting women to recognize to get tested.”

Deangelo has opted to dye the tips of his braids pink since his hair color is not regulated by the corporate slave drivers known as NFL executives.

The NFL might as well be run by robots because it’s alarmingly obvious that there is very little humanity inside of those expensive designer suits.
