Lupita Nyong’O And Danai Gurira Hit Broadway In “Eclipsed”

Nyong’o, who will also star in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, will reprise a role she is now playing in a production called Eclipsed. Currently being performed off Broadway at the Public Theater, Eclipsed is written by Danai Gurira, best known for her role as Michonne on “The Walking Dead.” According to the New York Times, the play is a “drama about the relationships among a group of women who are detained and raped by a Liberian rebel officer.” The production at the Public Theater has been extended twice and is currently sold out. Gurira is one of the few women to have her play make it to Broadway.

“People Are Being Evicted”: RushCard Glitch Leaves Customers Out In The Cold And Locked Out Of Their Accounts


… According to Hip Hop DX, UniRush, LLC’s (RushCard’s parent company) recent “technology transition” wasn’t a smooth one. The company faced a glitch during the crossover, which is affecting their ability to process both deposits and withdrawals. The result: customers have been unable to access their money. “There are thousands of us that have been locked out of our accounts, can’t access accounts, money is missing, direct deposits not posted,” RushCard customer Nicole Blackshear of Ohio told DX on October 14. “They keep lying on their Facebook page that the system is back up, and it’s not. When you call, you stay on hold for hours and then the line just hangs up on you.”… RushCard co-founder Russell Simmons has publicly acknowledged the glitch and insists that the company is working overtime to fix the problem.

Singapore Church Founder Guilty Of Embezzling $35 Million To Help Wife’s Singing Career


The founder of a vastly popular megachurch in Singapore has been found guilty of embezzling $35 million to fund his wife’s singing career. After a nearly three-year trial, a court in Singapore found Kong Hee, leader and pastor of the City Harvest Church, guilty of criminal breach of trust for misappropriating just over 50 million in Singaporean currency to promote the wife’s music in Asia and America. Hee has denied the fraud charges, but released no comment following the ruling… Hee’s wife, Ho Yeow Sun, appeared in a music video with Wyclef Jean in 2007, but her career never blew up. Instead, her husband could be headed to jail for up to a decade. A sentencing dates has yet to be scheduled.
