Reality TV Couple Set The Record Straight On Their Finances After Wife Threatened To Go Back To Stripping To Make Ends Meet
Money troubles dogged Love & Hip Hop Hollywood’s Willie Taylor and his wife Niyana throughout this season, but the couple said they’re far from down and out.
The R&B singer-turned reality star spent the past few episodes rowing with his wife about not having enough cash to pay their bills after they moved to LA from Chicago. Niyana even threatened to go back to stripping if more money didn’t start coming in.
“Basically we were in a place where I was comfortable, but my wife wasn’t comfortable,” Taylor, 34, told BOSSIP.
Despite the arguements, couple said they were not cash strapped.
“We were never broke – I wouldn’t have moved anywhere if we were broke,” Niyana said. “I didn’t want to get to the point where we needed someone (to help). So I started to panic a little bit. I said ‘We need to get this money up now, because I don’t wanna be out here like that with my kids.’”
But did Niyana’s panic send her back to stripping?
“I guess you’re going to have to see,” she said coyly, grinning. “But you know, sometimes you’ve gotta do what you’ve gotta do, and I’m down for my family.”
Taylor – who is set to release a new album, “Music” at the beginning of next year – told us their arguments were rooted in more than just money.
“It’s really because I took her away from her entire family, her mom, and it’s the same as me,” he said of their move across the country. “It was an extra boost of fear.”
