BOSSIP Exclusive: Jim Jones Offered Plea Deal In DUI Case

Rapper Accused Of Driving While Stoned In 2013

Harlem rapper Jim Jones is mulling a plea deal in his driving while intoxicated case, BOSSIP has learned.

Cops pulled Jones, 39, over on the Sheridan Expressway in the Bronx back in 2013. Cops smelled weed, and arrested the “We Fly High” rapper, although they didn’t actually find any pot in the car. Jones was charged with attempting to commit a crime, driving under the influence of drugs, refusing a breathalyzer test and reckless driving.

But prosecutors Nov. 30 offered Jones a plea deal that would allow him to cop to a reduced charge of impaired driving – a traffic infraction – as well as a $300 fine. The offer came on the day that the rapper’s trial was supposed to begin.

Jones’ lawyer John Carlton, said there was an “excellent chance” that his client would take the plea deal.

He is due back in court next week to accept or reject the deal.
