Tupac Biopic Headed Into Production December 2015
Bossip can exclusively confirm that Benny Boom will be directing Tupac’s life story!
We were the first to tell you this Spring that John Singleton would no longer be directing the project and we can now reveal that Morgan Creek Productions set to announce that Benny Boom will direct the long-awaited Tupac biopic — now titled ALL EYEZ ON ME.
The film chronicles the life and legacy of Tupac Shakur, including his rise to superstardom as a hip hop artist and actor, as well as his imprisonment and prolific, controversial time at Death Row Records, where he was steeped in the East coast/West coast rap war.
Producer LT Hutton gave the following comment on the new director announcement:
“Both Morgan Creek and I knew that we needed to find someone with the vision to bring this important story to the big screen. We’ve spent a lot of time with Benny, and we find his take and work inspiring.”
Benny Boom added, “I am blessed with the opportunity of a lifetime. Telling the story of this revolutionary, artist, visionary, genius and soldier! I will make him proud and uphold the legacy.”
We’re also excited to tell you that filming is set to begin this December.
