There can be no more dancing around the fact that, for children, consuming added sugar contributes to a litany of chronic diseases, particularly obesity, Type 2 diabetes and heart disease, scientists concluded in new research published in October 2015. In the study, researchers closely monitored 43 obese children and found that reducing the consumption of added sugar — even while maintaining the same number of calories, and the same amount of non-sugary junk food such as potato chips — led to a dramatic improvement in a cluster of health measures in just 10 days. The kids lowered their cholesterol, blood pressure and blood sugar and lost a little weight, too, despite no change in their calorie intake or physical activity. “The positive message is that you can very quickly reverse a bad picture [of health] in a very simple way,” by removing added sugars, said Jean-Marc Schwarz, a professor at Touro University California near San Francisco and senior author of the paper. “I have never seen results as striking or significant.”.

Leah Still Has No Signs Of Cancer

Medical tests revealed that Leah Still is showing no signs of cancer. The 5-year-old’s father, former Cincinnati Bengals player Devon Still, announced the wonderful news on Instagram. “Thanks for all the support and prayers!” Still wrote. “Just got the phone call that her scans showed NED (no evidence of disease)! #LeahStrong.” Leah was diagnosed with stage four neuroblastoma in 2014. In March, she was declared to be in remission. Still was released from the Cincinnati Bengals roster earlier this year. According to the Cincinnati Enquirer, the 26-year-old has been busy fundraising for pediatric research through his Leah Strong Foundation. This is awesome news. We’re so happy for Devon and Leah’s mom, Channing Smythe.

Nick Cannon Named As RadioShack’s New Chief Creative Officer

The digital boom in media in terms of music, electronics and movies has eliminated the need for stores such as RadioShack, which is why the once prominent retailer filed for Chapter 11 protection in February of this year… Now that their trusty brand is safe, the suits needed to devise a plan to get a more visible in today’s ever moving landscape as well as appoint a new leader to march them through the new revolution. And Nick Cannon is their guy…“I always had an affinity for the brand,” Cannon, who reportedly bought all his first DJ equipment at a San Diego branch back when he was pre-teen, says in a statement obtained by USA TODAY. “I want people to understand that it’s a brand that is innovative. It’s for the thinkers and the doers of today’s Millennial generation.”
