N.D. Dad Up In Arms Over Son’s Yearbook Photo With Assault Rifle Being Rejected
SMH. All the school shootings we’ve experienced in our lifetime and this guy doesn’t see what’s wrong with this photo! The father of Josh Renville, a student at Fargo North High School took to Facebook to defend his son’s right to bear arms in the yearbook…
According to NY Daily News reports:
Charlie Renville posted the photo online after it was banned from inclusion in the yearbook.
“It’s a picture. No different then (sic) the pictures in the school library of soldiers during anyone of our nations wars,” he wrote.
Principal Andy Dahlen stood by his decision to keep the image out of the yearbook.
“We don’t allow guns on school property, we don’t allow students to wear clothing that depicts guns or weapons or any violence or drugs or alcohol,” Dahlen told radio station KFGO. “The ruling is that our policy prohibits this display on media sources and so we’ve ruled that he’d have to submit a new photo.”
It was one thing when we were using assault rifles to defend ourselves from the British. These days they’re being used to take innocent lives. Which side of the gun control debate are you on?
