Former TV Star’s Dire Financial Straits Revealed In Bankruptcy Papers
Former CSI star Gary Dourdan’s dire financial situation has been revealed in new docs filed in his bankruptcy – showing the actor has only $722 in his bank account after he paid all his monthly expenses.
Despite being on the highest rated show a mere seven years ago, Dourdan filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in September — the second time in the last five years — stating he has $988,000 in assets and $1.46 million owed to creditors. His assets included $20 cash, $1,000 in his savings, $1,000 in household items, $1,000 in clothing and a $1,000 watch.
His debts include $949,000 on his L.A. home mortgage, more than $200,000 in back taxes, $1,400 to American Express, $626 to Time Warner, $4,368 in fees due to his criminal probation, $2,000 to a Marina Del Rey hospital, more than $2,000 for a storage unit and $130 for a traffic ticket.

He lists himself as an actor/musician and brings in a total of $11,500 a month, but his expenses total $11,302 leaving him only with $198 in spare cash.

Dourdan explained in court docs that his main debts are his LA home and back taxes. He told the court that he has his elderly parents, brother, sister and brother-in-law and their minor children living with him in his four-bedroom, three-bathroom home.
He explained that his family promised to pay him $7,000 a month to help with his reorganization plan to pay off his debt. Dourdan said that he is a working actor but gigs come and go. He did inform the court at the time he was filing a movie in Georgia and has a role on Being Mary Jane.
Then on January 15th, the actor filed court docs that revealed the extent of Dourdan’s dire finances: The records show that Dourdan had more than $8,000 in his bank account during the month of December. However, after he paid off his monthly debt payments, other expenses and bills he was left with only $722.34 in his account.
The court documents show Dourdan spends over a thousand a month on Uber trips – which makes sense given his numerous run-ins with the law – along with $900 in child support along with numerous other bills.
Dourdan – who once scored a hefty weekly paycheck with his role on CSI – is still dealing with his bankruptcy and is attempting to work out a plan to pay off the majority of his creditors in the case.
