Decades and decades of research have proven that breastfeeding is the best feeding, yet and still 70 percent of American women opt out. Against the American Academy of Pediatrics recommendation that mothers exclusively breastfeed for six months and maintain breastfeeding until at least one-year of age, the USDA reports that only 29 percent of American mothers breastfeed through the age of six months. So why are American mothers opting out of the social, economic, and health benefits of breastfeeding?…
