Study Suggests Americans Have Become Less Accepting Of Divorce

Although the nation’s divorce rate doesn’t appear to be an indicator of this, a recent report from the National Center for Health Statistics suggests that Americans have become less accepting of divorce. Researchers surveyed thousands of men and women, whose ages ranged from 15 to 44, on their views on marriage, sexual behavior, and children. Researchers asked participants the same questions between 2002 and 2013. One of which included a question where both men and women were asked whether they agree or disagree with the following statement: “Divorce is usually the best solution when a couple can’t seem to work out their marriage problems.” Over time, the divorce number of participants who expressed that they disagreed with the statement, which resulted in the divorce approval rating dropping from 46 percent to 39 percent…

Surprise! Women Who Make The First Move Are Winning At Love

…According to Yahoo, a recent OkCupid study revealed that women who initiated conversations online were 2.5 times more likely to receive a response in comparison to men who make the first move. Also, female-initiated contact led to more conversations and more dates. Approximately 12 percent of the messages men initiated resulted in dates while 30 percent of initiatory messages from women led to dates. And if that doesn’t motivate you, perhaps this will: The men that the women contacted were considered “more” attractive. Women who simply selected from the pool of men who reached out to them first were more likely to find themselves conversing with “less” attractive men. Pharrell Hosts Private Masterclass For NYU Students

Pharrell has added college teacher to his ever-expanding resume. The i am OTHER founder hosted a private masterclass for undergrad students at the Clive Davis Institute at NYU’s Tisch School, earlier this month. Skateboard P, who was named 50th anniversary artist-in-residence at the Tisch School. During the one-hour session he listened to students’ music, and offered constructive criticism. He also spoke on the creative process. “The idea behind the masterclass was to have Pharrell work directly with our students, and to give them ideas about how to shape the music they’re making,” said NYU Tisch faculty member Jason King who co-led the session with Bob Power. “It’s our mission to train students as creative entrepreneurs, and few artists have married the art and business of recorded music as successfully as Pharrell…”
