Mauie The King Jr., with funkadelic inspirations and fashion driven imagery, represents a new undefined growing sound of Atlanta. With last year’s release of his project, “Humble Beginnings”, Mauie is finally set to release his first EP “GOFW” (Going Out For Wings). The double entendre of personal elevation and simply going out for wings surmises the place of engagement and subject matter of the EP. Ambient productions from Ace Taylor, with the accompaniment of Niles Robert and Beatdilla heightens the mix of lyrical content, experimental sounds and flow. The happy and melodic undertones with heavy bass and 808 drums creates a perfect party atmosphere. This project creates the ambience for the pregame, the uber drive and the nights worth next day hangovers. It’s an evening of fun and camaraderie.
GOFW is set to release May 2nd , but in the meantime check out No Free Lunch below, the first single from GOFW.
The visual for No Free Lunch is set to release April 28th. The visual encapsulates the adventures of Mauie spending an evening at the annual Atlanta fair riding Ferris-wheels, walking through mirror houses and high-jacking food truck stands
