Aqib Talib Injured In Club Shooting
Aqib Talib of the Denver Broncos is said to be recovering after he was accidentally shot at Dallas’ V Live strip club.
According to reports Talib was injured when a fight broke out that he was not involved in.
Denver Broncos cornerback Aqib Talib will likely be released from Dallas’ Medical City Hospital on Monday after he was shot in the lower right leg Sunday morning. The team confirmed on Twitter Sunday night that he will not travel to the White House on Monday, when President Obama will honor the Broncos for winning Super Bowl 50.
Denver vice president of public relations Patrick Smyth tweeted Sunday afternoon that Talib is “doing OK.” The Broncos expect the three-time Pro Bowler to make a full recovery.
Talib only required stitches, and not surgery, according to ESPN.
Talib was shot at a Dallas night club, according to multiple reports, but a Medical City spokesman would not confirm the nature of his hospital visit. WFAA reported Talib was one of three people shot at the Vlive Club early Sunday morning.
Dallas police confirmed they were investigating a shooting in the vicinity of the club.
KUSA’s Mike Klis reported the gunshot wound was “accidental.”
His teammates are now excitedly tweeting about going to meet POTUS.
Get well soon!
