Terror Squad Reunion
Fat Joe and Remy Ma got the whole crowd to “Lean Back” during their performance before launching into a Big Pun tribute where singer Joe came out to sing the hook for “Still Not a Player.” Dressed in matching monochrome jackets, the pair took time out for their own songs, with Joe rapping his verses from “Another Round,” featuring Chris Brown, and Remy sashaying across the stage during her performance of “Conceited.” Next, singer Ashanti, dressed in a blue sparkly hooded leotard, was up for “What’s Luv,” and the crew finished with their new single, “All The Way Up,” with French Montana and a gaggle of dancers dressed as geishas. Their performance must’ve gotten the crowd especially hyped, because moments afterwards the show had to be halted because a fight broke out on the concert floor. The NJ State Police said on Twitter that three people were arrested.
Bryson Tiller represented for the R&B dudes with an energetic set featuring music from his album, “Trapsoul.” Using a backdrop of fight footage from fellow Louisville, KY native Muhammad Ali, the 23-year-old performed his track “502 Come Up” and then brought Fabolous out to perform his verse on the remix of “Sorry Not Sorry.” Before closing the show with “Don’t,” Tiller talked about how a friend told him a year ago that he’d blow up: “He said it’s only gonna take one song to change your entire life,” he said to whoops from the crowd. “Never in my life did I think I’d be performing in front of this many people.”
