Ray J Threatens Legal Action On Kanye West
Ray J had a lot of thoughts on Kanye West making him naked and “Famous” next to a waxy Kimmy in his latest video — via his manager anyway. Now, he’s reportedly thinking of granting Kanye’s wish and pursuing legal action over the use of his likeness without his permission.
If you’ll recall, Kanye Wests’ “Famous” clip featured a bed full of bucket-nekkid controversial celeb figures who live life in the limelight. And we all know Ray J is partially poplar for costarring in a little piece of freaky cinema alongside Kim. But apparently Ray is fed up with the Wests repeatedly drudging his name up over their 13-year-old on-camera action.
Ray’s business manager David Weintraub told Heat Magazine:
“We’re talking about potentially doing something. Because there’s too many times Kanye has done this, and you can’t really continue to use people’s likeness without either compensation or clearance.
It seems to be becoming an issue – this is like the fourth time in six months he’s done this.
We haven’t really worked anything out. There were kind of discussions but it’s getting old, so our legal team is working out what we want to do with everything.”
We aren’t sure what the other three instances were — except Kanye’s lyric about him and Ray J being friends if they didn’t have Kim in common. But Ray J did write a little ditty called “I Hit It First,” so there’s no telling how much a judge would be on his side on the matter…
