Growing up in New York, I often saw tour buses strictly roam the perimeters of Midtown Manhattan and the Upper East or West Side. It wasn’t until I was in high school that I saw the first set of tour buses enter both Downtown Brooklyn and Harlem before they were trendy hot spots. The tour participants were usually from foreign countries or states that had little to no diversity and they would casually gawk while taking photos of myself, friends or other people of color navigating their neighborhoods. Is VH1 In The Works Of Producing A Jodeci Biopic?

In the past few years, biopics of our favorite R&B and hip-hop stars continue to pop up left and right. We’ve seen CrazySexyCool: The TLC Story, Aaliyah: The Princess of R&B, Straight Outta Compton, Toni Braxton: Unbreak My Heart, The Miki Howard Story, and more. Most recently, it was announced that an epic three night miniseries chronicling the legendary music group New Edition would air on BET in 2017. Now, there’s another all-male R&B group of the new jack swing era that’s allegedly ready to tell their story. The Food Network Recruits the Currys And The Smolletts for New Series

Everybody’s favorite basketball wife, Ayesha Curry, is coming to the small screen. According to Vulture, the Food Network has granted a show to both the Smollett and the Curry families. They would be crazy not to. There’s a growing adoration that surrounds the Curry family on social media, with Ayesha as the always supportive matriarch. The Smollett kids (Jussie on Empire, Journee on Underground) are doing major numbers on the Nielsen charts. It just makes sense. The network has ordered six episodes each of both Smollett Eats and Ayesha’s Homemade. We’re excited to see what both families cook up…
