The Bahamas’ Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Immigration has issued a travel warning to its citizens traveling to the U.S. According to CNN, after a week of “tensions in some American cities over shootings of young black males by police officers.” In a statement released on Friday (July 8) by the government of the majority-black Caribbean nation, there was an emphasis on travelers avoiding crowds and demonstrations on U.S. soil, and a warning for young men specifically to “exercise extreme caution in affected cities in their interactions with the police … Do not be confrontational and cooperate.” This warning comes before the country’s Independence Day on Monday, a public holiday in which many Bahamians travel to the United States, and after the deaths of Alton Sterling in Baton Rogue and Philando Castile in Minnesota by police officers…

#AllLivesDidntMatter: Trend Hits Back At All Lives Matter Crowd

The debate between the #BlackLivesMatter movement and individuals who wave the countering #AllLivesMatter flag has swelled in intensity in the past week for obvious reasons. With the Black Lives Matter consistently maintaining that it isn’t excluding the fair point that all lives do indeed matter, the All Lives Matter crowd got a lesson today when the hashtag “#AllLivesDidn’tMatter” began trending on Monday. The hashtag was actually used in 2015 but was enacted again by Twitter user @shelbydasavage last week. It began to grow again in interest this past Friday as discussions surrounding the unfortunate police-involved shootings of Alton Sterling and Philando Castile started taking hold. So far, the trending topic is exploding and puts the intentions and aims of All Lives Matter under heavy scrutiny…
