Memphis Bleek

Rapper Says He Has Just $100 In Cash

Things are looking bleak for Memphis Bleek.

Jay Z’s mentee is scheduled to have his modest Monmouth County, NJ home auctioned off to the highest bidder in a sheriffs sale this fall after he struggled to pay the mortgage, BOSSIP can reveal.

Memphis Bleek’s Keyport, NJ home is set to be sold Sept. 12 at a starting price of $308,203, according to its listing with the Monmouth County Sheriffs Department. Memphis Bleek bought the nearly 2,500 square foot home in 2003 for $300,000, using a $274,000 mortgage from Bank Of America, public records show.

We exclusively revealed yesterday that Memphis Bleek filed for bankruptcy earlier this year, claiming he had nothing in his business account and just $100 in cash. Bleek said he had $274,190 in assets like the house, a 2014 Chevy Impala and his company, “Get Low Touring,” which he said is worth zero.

But his liabilities totaled $384,804.91 for debts like his mortgage, back taxes, car payment and civil court judgments.

Bleek – who was born Malik Cox – apparently filed for bankruptcy in a last ditch effort to keep the house, and the bank adjourned the home auction while he works to settle the debts. But if the bank successfully gets Bleek’s debt repayment plan dismissed, than the home sale will go through.
