Hartwell Filed For Divorce From Keshia Knight-Pulliam
Ed Hartwell’s recent divorce announcement isn’t the only personal crisis he’s facing.
The Ohio State Department of Taxation hit the former pro athlete with a judgment lawsuit and a tax lien for $62,239 earlier this year, according to court documents obtained by BOSSIP. Hartwell’s March 2016 certificate of judgment states his lien is for his personal income taxes. The state also filed a separate lien against Hartwell a few days earlier for $7,136 for failure to pay his school district taxes.
Hartwell, 38, has not officially responded to either judgment, court docs show.
Hartwell had 60 days to pay the tax debt, but because he’s failed to, the state Attorney General has stepped in to start collection proceedings.
Despite signing a four year contract with the Atlanta Falcons for nearly $26 million and receiving an $8 million signing bonus, the one time “Real Housewives of Atlanta” star may be experiencing a cash flow problem if these debts are anything to go by.
And that’s not the end of Hartwell’s financial drama. The IRS slapped him with a tax lien for $355,488 in 2014 for his federal taxes from 2007 through 2009, which he hasn’t paid either, according to court docs.
Earlier this week, Hartwell blindsided his pregnant wife of four months Keshia Knight-Pulliam, citing irreconcilable differences, according to reports.
