St Louis News Reporter Fired For Insensitive Comments About Mike Brown And Mother
We’ll never understand why people think that they can make racist and or insensitive comments on the internet won’t come back to bite them in the a$$. ESPECIALLY if you’re a public figure of some sort.
But that’s exactly what St. Louis’ KTVI report Bobby Hughes has done. He is now unemployed.
Bobby Hughes, an overnight reporter/photographer for KTVI (Channel 2), no longer works for the station.
Hughes became the subject of a story because of a comment he made on July 22 that Hughes himself later characterized as “incredibly insensitive.”
Suzie Mahe, a KTVI spokeswoman, said she could not comment on personnel matters, and would only say “Bobby Hughes no longer works here; he’s no longer an employee of KTVI.”
The situation began when the Gateway Pundit website posted a story on Facebook about Michael Brown’s mother, Lezley McSpadden, possibly speaking at the Democratic National Convention. (Ultimately, she only appeared on the stage.)
The nerve of this d!¢khe@d!
“She needs to promote her new book.”
“Did they ever pay taxes on all that money they took in from the MB Fund page?”
“She’s going to talk about the new lead diet she endorsed. Five servings and you can lose 200 lbs in two years easily.”
What the hell made him think these are appropriate comments for ANYONE to make, but less a reporter for the local news?!?
