Antwon Jackson Dies
A well loved Emmy winning hairstylist has died. Antwon Jackson, known for gussying up Wendy Williams for years passed away this weekend at age 44.
Antwon Jackson, the Emmy-winning hairstylist responsible for talk show host and New Jersey native Wendy Williams’ many wigs, has died suddenly at the age of 44, his longtime friend Crystal Wright confirms to NJ.com.
Jackson, who was born and raised in North Carolina and worked as a hairstylist in Durham for many years before becoming Williams’ so-called “wig-ologist,” was also a fixture on Williams’ after-show on YouTube.
Wright says Jackson had recently returned from vacation with his fiance, Dontay Savoy, a fellow hairstylist, in Mexico, but didn’t have any details on his death and could not comment on reports that he suffered from lupus.
Jackson had last posted a shot of some of Williams’ wigs on Instagram a week ago, announcing the start of Williams’ eighth season on Sept. 19.
He won an Daytime Emmy in 2011 for outstanding achievement in hairstyling, and was nominated in 2012.
Wendy recently paid tribute to Jackson on her Instagram calling him a friend.
Antwon leaves behind a son, 25.
