The State Of NJ Wants “Ladies Night” Rapper To Pay Up
She’s wowing crowds on the Bad Boy Reunion tour with P. Diddy, but it looks like Lil Kim forgot to pay the bills before she got on the road.
The state of New Jersey just slapped diminuitive rapper with a tax lien for almost $40,000, the latest in a string of financial blows for Notorious BIG’s protégé in the last few years. The state’s Division of Taxation filed the lien for $38,200 Sept. 1 for state taxes Kim allegedly owes, according to records obtained by BOSSIP.
The state is serious about collecting Kim’s debt, and if she doesn’t pay up ASAP, it’ll move to seize her property or other assets to get the tax lien paid off.
It’s not the first time that Kim – who was born Kimberly Jones – has run afoul of the tax man, leading many to wonder if she’s now broke after earning a fortune during her 90s heyday. In July, Kim’s local hospital won a judgment against her for nearly $3,000. And last year, the IRS filed a federal tax lien against her for $126,805 for back income tax. She has tax warrants in New York state totaling more than $70,000 from 2008 through 2010 which have yet to be paid off.
The 90s rapper is also in the midst of fighting to keep her tony $3 million northern NJ mansion out of foreclosure after she stopped paying the nearly $10,000 a month mortgage.
