Seattle High School Football Players Down With Colin Kaepernick

The football players and coaches of Garfield High School in Seattle, Washington took a stand with Colin Kaepernick by kneeling at the national anthem before their football game. Even better, some players from the visiting West Seattle High School took a knee in solidarity with their opposition.

Colin Kapernick is the QB who started the widespread kneel while the national anthem plays as a way to protest police brutality. Oddly enough, the high school teams took the opposite stance of their professional football counterparts, the Seattle Seahawks.

Last Sunday, the Seahawks stood up for the anthem. Each teammate was linked in arms with another teammate. The idea was publicized by Doug Baldwin as he referred to move as a “demonstration of unity.”
