Chance’s Tour Goes A Little West

Chance the Rapper’s Magnificent Coloring Day Tour started in Chicago yesterday and featured a surprise guest in Kanye West. Kanye, who had his own show in Nashville that evening, popped up on the young emcee to help him do a rousing rendition of their cult favorite “Ultralight Beam.” It was a definite good look for a young guy in the game who seems to be on his way to carving out a legacy and becoming a legend in his own right.

The lineup was already stacked for the one-day bonanza, with Alicia Keys, Lil Wayne, John Legend, Skrillex, and more packing the schedule, but members of the MCD crew couldn’t help but take in the impromptu collab from the side of the stage as Tyler, the Creator is seen doing in the clip above.

It’s kind of a huge thing to throw a massive event like MCD and have your idol come out and not only attend, but perform, and make the point to show up when he’s got a show of his own a few states away. That’s love, right there, but it makes sense considering how Kanye thinks Chance is “the future” and all.

Sometimes, it’s good to have friends in high places.
