Woman Said Derrick Rose & Two Friends Gang Raped Her
Derrick Rose’s rape accuser has asked a judge not to honor the player’s request to ban her from speaking to the press about the upcoming trial.
The alleged victim said the New York Knicks player has run his mouth in the media about his side of the story and so she shouldn’t be unfairly shut up either.
Last week, Rose headed to court and demanded his rape accuser be ordered to shut up and for the judge to grant a gag order prohibiting her from giving any interviews about the case. The NBA star said her recent “nationwide media blitz” was going to give her an unfair advantage in the trial, which is supposed to start next month.
The accuser and her lawyer had a teleconference with numerous reporters in which they labeled him a “sexual deviant.”
Then this week, the accuser filed a motion to shut down Rose’s attempt to have a gag order preventing her from speaking to the media.
She explained Rose and his legal team have regularly spoke to the media, and pointed out he only filed hit motion after the judge granted his plea to make her reveal her identity in the trial.
The woman says the NBA star has unfettered access to national media due to his celebrity , which is something she doesn’t have.
She added, “To grant his proposed gag order would not only fail to prevent harm, but it would likely prejudice potential jurors against the plaintiff, as he has had more opportunities (and taken them) to tell his account of the night in question and of the parties involved.”
The judge has yet to make a decision on the matter.
