Jerry Rice Apologizes For Tweeting “All Lives Matter”
Back in August we lost NFL hall-of-famer Jerry Rice. No, #80 hasn’t gone home to glory, but his “all lives matter” reaction to Colin Kaepernick’s National Anthem protest was evidence of a man who has been drinking a whole lot of “their” kool-aid.
Rightfully, Jerry was dragged to the fiery depths of Twitter hell and baptized in the social justice warrior waters. Since then, Rice must have had some conversations with folks who were willing to educate rather than excoriate him.
He’s now returned as this guy:
Now we know old heads aren’t always hip to technology, but even if Jerry isn’t an avid Twitter user, how the HELL he didn’t know about #BlackLivesMatter is beyond us. However, this is his story and he’s stickin’ to it.
Question is, will you let Jerry come kick it with us at the BBQ again? Is he allowed at the spades table? Can he stand next to you during the Electric Slide?
As you might imagine, quite a few black folks still got jokes and side-eyes.
See what they have to say on the flip side.
