Singer-songwriter Bob Dylan has been awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature, marking his award the first time a musician has been given the iconic literary prize.

The Noble Prize committee gave the 75-year-old singer the award” for having created new poetic expressions within the great American song tradition” reports USA Today.
