Black Mississippi Church Set Ablaze And Vandalized With “Vote Trump” Messaging

Looks like Mississippi is burning again. According to WDAM reports, Greenville authorities responded to a call about a church burning Tuesday night sometime after 11 p.m. The Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church, located in the 600 block of North Delesseps Street, was set ablaze around 9:15 pm according to a statement from Greenville Fire Chief Ruben Brown, who said there are no reported injuries from the fire. Most of the damage occurred in the main sanctuary, but officials discovered that the church had also been vandalized with the words “Vote Trump” spray painted on the side of the building. ATF and State Fire Marshals were at the scene Tuesday night however other outside agencies were expected to join the investigation today.

Mayor Errick D. Simmons, Greenville Fire Chief Brown, Washington County Sheriff and other state and federal law enforcement agencies were expected to hold a press conference today at 10:30 am at the Greenville Fire Department Headquarters.

This is a damn shame…
