Celebrity Chef To Release New Book On Eating To Eliminate Fibroids
Celebrity Chef Akhi is a women’s health advocate who truly believes that you are what you eat. The vegan chef, who has cooked for the likes of Common, Bradley Cooper, Lenny Kravitz and Lee Daniels, says women can eat their way to a healthier reproductive system – namely shrinking or even eliminating uterine fibroids. And to that end, Chef Akhi has taken on fibroids in her new book, “The Fibroid Elimination Recipe Guide,” – out Nov. 11 – a cookbook that she said shows people how they can get rid of uterine fibroids by changing their diet.
Fibroids, or tumors that grow in a woman’s uterus, affect about half of women, and although sometimes harmless, they can cause serious problems – even cancer. And with black women three times as likely as white women to suffer from fibroids, Chef Akhi said her new book’s recipes will manage – and even shrink – fibroids in just weeks.
“I’m trying to stress to women that it’s time to get back to prioritizing your own health,” Akhi told us. “Your health is your wealth, and that’s something we need to go back to.”
Chef Akhi stopped by BOSSIP’s offices recently to share her top tips for eating to managing fibroids:
Akhi says if possible, don’t use plastic to store food, and don’t drink from plastic bottles. BPA – a chemical found in plastic that mimics estrogen, can seep into the food and drink, and help the fibroids grow. “We need to upgrade our water sources,” Akhi said.
