MLB Legend Accused Of Leaking Details Of Rehab Stay
Darryl Strawberry is accused of screwing over a patient at his Florida rehab – by revealing the man had received treatment to another patient – and he is demanding more than $25,000 for the damage the MLB legend allegedly caused him.
Strawberry partnered with a company named Oglethorpe Inc. – which has 15 years of experience in behavioral health rehabs – to open The Darryl Strawberry Recovery Center in Florida last year.
A Florida man named Paul Napoleoni – currently locked up in Broward County Jail – filed suit against Strawberry’s rehab accusing them of breaking the rehab code by telling other patients he had previously checked into the facility.
Napoleoni explained a man named Gustavo Sebastian entered into the rehab back in May 2016. According to the suit, Sebastian claimed Napoleoni had an inappropriate relationship with his wife Joi Sebastian, which the plaintiff claimed were false accusations.
According to the complaint, Sebastian showed the rehab employees personal letters between Napoleoni and his wife. As the man was speaking to Strawberry and another employee they told Sebastian that Napoleoni was a former client which he says is a violation of patient confidentiality and put him in harm’s way as a result.
The man filed suit against the Darryl Strawberry Recovery Center demanding $25,000 and wants another $25,000 from Gusatavo.
Strawberry has spoken out about his story of overcoming his year’s long drug addiction. He named his struggle to sobriety as one of the reasons for opening the drug rehab facility.
