John Legend Calls Kanye’s Meeting With Trump Was A Publicity Stunt

Kanye West and John Legend have been super tight for years. But even the crooner had to give ‘Ye the side eye after he turned up to Trump Tower on Monday, freshly bleached and bright-eyed, for a headazz meeting about who knows what and a ton of “token Black friend” photo opps.

While sitting down with French outlet Clique, John said that while he believes it’s completely possible to meet with the President-elect to discuss pertinent issues and speak your peace…he’s positive that Kanye’s presence was more of a publicity stunt than a peace summit.

“I’m pretty disappointed with Kanye that he says he would have voted for Trump. I think Trump has been corrosive, his message has been corrosive to the country. I think the things he’s promised to do have been very concerning for a lot of people, and for Kanye to support that message is very disappointing.”
