Music Producer In The Fight Of His Life After Alleged Armed Robbery
Memphitz isn’t going down for his alleged armed robbery without a fight.
The former husband of Lil Wayne’s ex-wife Toya Wright has rejected a plea deal for his felony armed robbery case that would have seen him serve a decade behind bars and 15 years probation, BOSSIP has learned.
Memphitz appeared in a Fulton County, Ga. courtroom last week to tell the judge he wasn’t interested in the state’s deal, according to court records. His trial is now scheduled to begin in June. If he is convicted on his top charge of armed robbery, Memphitz could face 20 years in prison.
Cops said Memphitz, who was born Mickey Wright, pulled a gun on a car wash employee and accused the man of stealing marijuana out of his Jeep after he took it there to have it cleaned.
The Fulton County District Attorney offered Memphitz 10 years in jail and 15 years of probation in exchange for pleading guilty to a slew of charges from the 2015 incident, including armed robbery, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, according to court papers.
But the “Marriage Boot Camp” star has insisted he’s innocent and has opted to take his chances at trial. He wrote about his decision on Instagram, saying: “#what 10 years?? Liars make me sick. I’m out.”
