15-Year-Old Boy Senselessly Killed By Trigger-Happy Texas Cop Leaving Party
A group of teenage boys were leaving a house party near Dallas, when a cop started shooting at their car, killing one of the boys inside. According to Daily News reports, the front passenger window was struck and shattered. At least one bullet fatally struck the 15-year-old riding shot gun.
Jordan Edwards, a high school freshman was shot in the head.
Lee Merritt, a lawyer representing the victim’s family said Jordan’s 16-year-old brother was driving the car. The five boys inside the vehicle had fled the house party after hearing gunshots, only to be confronted by a police officer “yelling profanities”. The teens then heard another round of shots go off and attempted to leave the scene, according to the Jordan family lawyer, not realizing that set of shots was actually coming from a cop.
Their lawyer says the boys were not drinking, nor were they the group of teens the neighbors called police over, initially.
The teen’s parents are calling for justice and asking for the officer, who has been placed on routine administrative leave, to be arrested and charged, Merritt said. The officer has not been identified.
Balch Springs police Chief Jonathan Haber publicly offered his “condolences’ to the victims family. SMH.
