Mom Hits 6-Year-Old For Not Making Her A Mother’s Day Card

A North Carolina mom is behind bars today after slapping and hitting her son for not making her a Mother’s Day gift.

According to Fox 5, Spartanburg, SC police responded to a domestic disturbance early Friday evening.

A woman standing with two children, including one hysterically crying young boy, told officers that her daughter, 30-year-old Shontrell Murphy, was his mother and she had slapped him repeatedly all over his head.

Police say the boy’s sister reported that

Shontrell had become angry when she discovered that the boy had made a handwritten Mother’s Day card for his grandmother, but not for her. She opened the card, presumably believing it to be for her….but upon discovering that it was not, she immediately ripped it up and hit her son multiple times.

Murphy admitted to smacking her son but did “not believe it was in a hard or violent manner.” However, the kids reported to police that their mother frequently hits them violently and they are afraid of her.

Well, she honestly shouldn’t be too shocked that the kids aren’t all that hype to make her a card, with that kind of abusive behavior.
