Major Acts Perform In 20th Annual Hip Hop Concert
Remy Ma paid tribute to hip-hop’s female rap pioneers at what’s billed as the biggest hip-hop concert in the U.S.
Remy brought out Queen Latifah, Young M.A., MC Lyte, Monie Love and The Lady of Rage for a special rendition of Queen Latifah’s 90s’ era hit, “U.N.I.T.Y.” at Hot 97’s Summer Jam 2017 on Sunday.
More than 80,000 people attended the sold-out concert in northern New Jersey, where other acts like Chris Brown, Migos, Lil Yachty and DJ Khaled rocked the stage.
The event drew scores of celebs, like Colin Kaepernick, Dave East and his mom, Memphis Bleek, Irv Gotti, Meek Mill and A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie.
The event culminated with a tribute to the Notorious B.I.G. with his contemporaries Lil Kim, Total, The Lox, Lil Cease and Doug E. Fresh.
Summer Jam had been marred in recent years by mass arrests, a stabbing and near riots on the outside. But police said this year, the only major incident was a car fire in the stadium parking lot.
