Zendaya’s Vogue Cover Feature Is So Dope We Could Cry

We’re so proud of Zendaya we could cry. Seriously. While other starlets her age (20) are out here being gratuitously naked or makeup obsessed, she’s covering VOGUE’s July Issue, speaking up about how she had to demand the power she holds as producer of her Disney show and how she chose to defend herself from ignorant haters like Giuliana Rancic. We don’t want to give TOO much away but we have to say the interview is a MUST read — Zendaya is definitely an Oakland girl to the core. She talks about her Black Panther lineage and wanting to make a movie about Angela Davis but we were also blown away by the revelations about her style ambitions, her trapeze stuntin’ skills for her upcoming role in ‘The Greatest Showman.’

Here’s an excerpt via VOGUE:

“A lot of people don’t realize their power,” she says. “I have so many friends who say yes to everything or feel like they can’t stand up for themselves in a situation.” She is now pounding a fist on the dining table. “No: You have the power.”

What woman wouldn’t be inspired by that?

Zendaya is the ultimate style chameleon, able to pull off virtually any look. Here, she puts that skill to the test by dancing her way through nine decades of fashion and beauty, from ’20s flapper to today’s text-neck teen, and everything in between.
