Jay Z Is Reintroducing Himself To The Public As…JAY-Z
The rapper formerly know as Jigga, HOV and Sean Carter is updating the way he stylizes his famed moniker by adding a hyphen and spelling it out in all capital letters, according to NY Daily News.
His rep confirmed the name change with the Daily News, and will be used on his yet to be released album, “4:44,” which comes out on his streaming service Tidal on June 30. YEs, he is still JAY-Z, but now you have to slam on that shift key to type it. Are you keeping up?
Only adding to the confusion, JAY-Z promoted his new album on Twitter this week by stylizing his name JAY:Z to match up with the “4:44” title.
It’s a busy week for the billionaire rapper. In addition to this out-of-the-blue name change and new album announcement, his wife Beyoncé gave birth to twins last week in Los Angeles.
