Terence Crutcher’s Killer Officer Announces Resignation

After taking someone’s life and devastating the lives of countless individuals, Tulsa officer Betty Shelby announced her plans to retire from the department on Friday. Shelby walked free back in May after killing unarmed father, Terence Crutcher during a traffic stop and has since been working at a comfortable desk job. Shelby says that’s still not good enough for her. Now it looks like she’s ready to kick her feet up and collect her pension? Here’s what she says about it to CNN.

“Since being reinstated, I have found that sitting behind a desk, isolated from all my fellow officers and the citizens of Tulsa, is just not for me,” Shelby wrote in a statement released by a local police union.
“As I have stated before, the incident with Terence Crutcher was a tragedy for everyone involved, and I am sorry he lost his life,” she wrote. “I pray for healing for his family, I will continue to pray for the unity of our community, the safety of our citizens and our police officers.”
Shelby will reportedly resign on August 3, according to her attorney. Bye ho.
