Linkin Park’s Chester Bennington Commits Suicide
The music world is mourning the loss of yet another band frontman today.
Linkin Park lead singer Chester Bennington was found dead in his bedroom on Thursday morning, having hanged himself inside his California home.
He is survived by six children from one previous marriage and his current wife. Thankfully, none of his family members were home at the time of his suicide. He had just returned to LA the previous day, leaving his wife back in Arizona where they had been spending some time together before his upcoming tour with the band, which was slated to start in one week.
The suicide shocked his family, friends, and bandmates, who had no indication that Chester had any plans to take his own life. He had a photo shoot scheduled for later in the day, and had plans to kickoff a new tour with Linkin Park later this month.
It should be noted that Chester was very close to Soundgarden front man Chris Cornell, who also hung himself to death last May. Today would have been Cornell’s 53rd birthday.
SMH. You really just never know what anyone is going through privately.
