Quincy Jones Wins Big Bucks In Michael Jackson Lawsuit
Quincy Jones is a happy senior citizen after winning some of the money he was seeking from Michael Jackson’s estate. We reported before that Jones had felt shorted from royalties MJ’s death. Apparently, his estate is still making HUGE dollars off of his biggest hit. Quincy says they had collected tons of money off of records he wrote and produced, including tracks like “Billie Jean” and Thriller” in Mike’s posthumous film “This Is It”. Record sales also spiked astronomically in the year following the King of Pop’s death.
According to The Jasmine Brand report, a jury decided that MJ’s estate and Sony Music Entertainment owes Quincy $9.4 million now. That’s a lot less than the $30 million he was seeking. MJ’s estate had proposed to pay out just $400,000 to the producer. Welp! Guess they will be coming off a little heavier now.
Pay yo bills!
